Tips for Using Certificate

Note

  • Before the certificate came along, all you needed for the online transaction was your ID and password, seriously increasing the threat to privacy by hackers or leak. The banking industry has adopted the certificate in order to address the threat. Recently, the use of the certificate has become mandatory in many banks.
  • Easy Log in
    • With the certificate, you can log in to the Internet Banking with just a password, providing full access to the Internet Banking.
  • Quick View (Removed)
    • Now, even the non-users can use the quick view. However, the service will be unavailable after March 2006. You will have easier and safer access to the Internet Banking by joining the Banking with your certificate.
  • Certificate for Homebuyers
    • Those who are looking to buy a house can visit the nearest sales office to get the OTP generator and apply for the apartment over the Internet.
  • Don't go shopping for your brandname items without the certificate.
    • From November 1, 2006, you must have the certificate to buy anything over 300,000 won online. You can issue the universal certificate for individuals at the bank. Or issue the certificate for bank and go to the KFTC website (www.yessign.or.kr) and issue the certificate for credit card.
  • More Uses for Certificates
    • The Ministry of Information and Communications plans to recommend the certificate as one of the alternative to using the Resident Registration number online, paving the way for advanced certificate-based services.
